Do you want to make the garment you saw on Ravelry or in the latest issue of a knitting magazine? Unfortunately, the yarn recommended is discontinued, not available at Common Thread, too expensive or wrong for the season. How can you pick a good substitute? It isn’t just about gauge! In this class you will learn about the characteristics of various yarns. You will see how drape, stitch definition, wearability, and care are all impacted by the fiber or fiber blend you want to use. We will even talk about how you can figure out something about the fiber content of that stash yarn without a label. Hopefully you will leave with a better understanding of how to make your own choices. Please note that this is a 3-hour class.
